I have been asked many times where I studied art; the quick and easy answered has always been that I'm self-taught. But the longer answer is that I was born into a family of artists and have been exposed to the world of art ever since I was a kid.
After my two daughters were born I decided to stay home with them full-time. Gradually over time I began to pursue my interest in art and also began to teach private art-lessons in my studio. I have grown to love teaching because I love to watch children and adults alike see that they, too, can create something out of almost nothing.
I have grown to love the entire process of painting - the initial envisioning and excitement of a new idea, the awkward (and sometimes ugly) early stages that most creatives know about, and arriving at the final painting stage that often turns out differently than expected. As you can see from my portfolio, I haven't developed one specific genre in my artwork. Rather, there is a variety of subject matter that I love to paint. There is one thing though that all of my work has in common - I choose to paint places, people, or memories that matter to me and to the people I love and care about. Thanks for following along.
