At some point over this past Christmas break I was feeling the desperate need for sunlight and fresh air. And so I followed my daughters foot prints in our mucky muddy field out to the ravine where they were setting up a tent (true story). I set up my little drawing station (a chair with my art materials) specifically where I would feel the sunlight on my face. I find myself in front of this tree trunk which I enjoyed sketching. First I sketched it out with a pencil, then added some colour quickly with watercolour.
I live in Southern Ontario on a farm with my husband, Dennis, and our two daughters. Painting out of my studio on our farm allows me to stay close to my family and to be surrounded by the natural landscape that continues to influence my work.
