In two separate sessions, the Kindergarten class (junior and senior) completed a paper mache fish art project. Step one: The children formed the fish's body out of tin foil. Using homemade paper mache paste, and ripped up newsprint, the children covered the fish up. Step two: I had the children sketch out a plan for how they wanted to paint their fish. They had to pick 2 colours of the 3 primaries. Once the plan was established, Step three: The children painted their fish - the challenge was for them to see if they could follow through with their plan. And they did great!
I live in Southern Ontario on a farm with my husband, Dennis, and our two daughters. Painting out of my studio on our farm allows me to stay close to my family and to be surrounded by the natural landscape that continues to influence my work.
