Today Megan finished this painting. I love how it turned out. I was inspired by Megan as I watched her begin this project in the first few stages. Megan began this painting by "carving" out the shapes of the trees/branches by painting the negative shapes around them. This ended up being a rather gruelling task. I noticed the care and attention Megan gave to each brushstroke, and realized I needed to apply some of Megan's more thoughtful method to my own artwork. This is when I decided to work on my own painting of the woods (hence the small 'woodland' series I am in the middle of right now). Well done Megan!
I live in Southern Ontario on a farm with my husband, Dennis, and our two daughters. Painting out of my studio on our farm allows me to stay close to my family and to be surrounded by the natural landscape that continues to influence my work.
