As a part of the immersive installation at the student exhibition "The Fields, The Woods, The Wetlands, the Town", at the Norfolk Arts Centre, I made a 3-D colouring 'book', of a BoatHouse. My husband dragged out one of many large cardboard boxes we have in our barn that are normally used for shipping peppers in the Fall. Once I had the main shape created (which used math skills... to build the peak... ), my husband got out his jig-saw to cut out the windows and doors (because this is super thick sturdy cardboard). Due to time-constraints I insisted the help of my daughter and husband to help me paint gesso on the boathouse, and to help me paint the black lines. I was thrilled with how it turned out! It has been nice to watch it get colour at the show as guests colour on it.
I live in Southern Ontario on a farm with my husband, Dennis, and our two daughters. Painting out of my studio on our farm allows me to stay close to my family and to be surrounded by the natural landscape that continues to influence my work.
